This series has been an incredible journey, and a delightful one. Not many Young Adult reads can cross all genres and ages to give us so much in the way of emotional relationships as this series does. Forming a bond with each and every character has not been a hardship from the very first word in the very first novel.Watching Saira turn from child to woman has been a wonderful experience for readers. Her bravery, her tenacity and her love for Archer has grown with her, and her maturity in the face of adversity in this final book, is impressive. Still a blend of innocence and passion, Saira takes firm hold of her leadership qualities to finally restore the balance of power in what has been an epic battle. Her motley crew are just as likable and brave. It is remarkably easy to make connections with these characters.
In the process we have been witness to some wonderful periods of history and met some fascinating historical figures. You are presented with history in a captivating and unique manner. Every figure throws an interesting slant on the times they inhabit. Artists, playwrights, poets like Shelley, church figures all become familiar friends. it is obvious the author has done some extensive research, particularly in this finale, and yet you would swear her twists are the way things really happened.The clever additions of well-known people, at just the right times, gives a final nod to the air of authenticity.
This book like the rest of the series is consistently well-written with a fluid pace, is exciting, beautifully descriptive, and most of all displays a lovely warmth that holds our attention and our hearts.I read in awe as the author brought everything together for a very satisfying ending. If you haven't read the series, I would recommend that you do. An amazing book and the end of what has been one of the best series I have read in a long time.

What an EPIC conclusion to this series!
I am utterly blown away with how fantastic this series has been. April White swept me away from one adventure to the next with this captivating, time-traveling story. I was on pins and needles with this paranormal thriller, hoping and needing an HEA after the battles these characters have fought throughout their journey in time...and I was NOT disappointed.
The message behind this series, and especially this book, is powerful and something that reflects on our own history and benefits every human from the past, present and future.
“My blood runs just as red as yours does, and I love and hope and dream just like you do. We are not born better or worse than anyone else, we’re born human, and we build ourselves up from the same ground floor.”
Although we may look different, act different, have different features that define us individually, but underneath it all.. we are all still human. We bleed the same color. It's not fair or just to judge someone by the way they look or where they come from, but to look into their character to define how we feel about a person.
“We parrot the prejudices of our parents, and they continue until nobody even remembers why we hated those people in the first place."
The three main characters are a perfect example of this.
Saira, a mix-blood of a Shifter and a Clocker. There were prejudices placed on her because the Families labeled mixed bloods illegal since they were afraid of their abilities and didn't want to share power. She was on the run only because of the mix of her blood.
Archer, a Seer turned Vampire. He was feared because they were taught that "suckers" were deadly, <i>which they are</i>, but it was Archer's character and his morals that made him safe. He would've never hurt another human unless he was provoked or his loved ones threatened.
And Ringo. My heart is so full of love for this kid. He grew up as a thief in the streets of London in the year 1888. He was a street urchin that no one ever took a chance on so he had to steal to feed himself and survive... until Saira came along and gave him opportunity to grow and thrive. There was so much more than meets with him. Smart as a whip and proved to be so much more than anyone ever gave him credit for.
These three characters, along with all of the friends they picked up along the way, fought tooth and nail to right the wrongs that history had bestowed upon them with their strength, courage and loyalty to one another.

The ending was a bit bittersweet for me, only because I'm not ready to let go of the gang yet, but Ringo's story will be continuing and I'm desperately looking forward to the next chapter of adventures.
What an incredible and thrilling series. April White is now labeled as a favorite author of mine with her spectacular and heart-felt storytelling.
