Nick is in a star in the music business and secretly married to Layla for the last year but he has been less than faithful and that's about to come back to haunt him as he struggles to keep his marriage afloat. The story is told from Layla's point of view as she tries to decide what she wants from her marriage and the best way forward for her.If you are a regular romance reader I would not recommend this book or the other parts. I thought I would give this a go when it came up for free but it's not a keeper. The author is a psychology major and it shows in the narrative which reads like the notes of a poor therapy session, or a case study, with constant arguments between Nick and Layla but little movement in the storyline. The characters have some very serious issues which do not make for a happily ever after in this destructive relationship.

Wow, the beginning of this shamefest is so bad I couldn’t even get through the first chapter. The main characters are unlikeable at best. They have zero self respect. Married but whore around with anyone with a pulse. He husband invites his wife into his bed 5 minutes after she throws out his underage one night stand. The wife is beyond pathetic. Hello doormat. The husband is just disgusting. Hello vile waste of space. . Thank goodness for Unlimited or I would have demanded a refund.
Nick and Layla are struggling through a marriage kept secret. Nick's cheating leads to dramatic arguments, and soul searching for Layla. Twists in the story unfold as you read keeping the reader hooked. The dialogue and arguments are intense and real. The ending leaves you wondering what's next for these two. Is there a next?

Nick and Layla have a dysfunctional relatonship with that being said I felt they belonged together despite all the crap they've been through. Nick is not always the problem as Layla has some issues of her own and some growing to do as well. But I can still detect the love between them. Good story and I read all the sequels..dying to read the next one and wondering if they will finally get their HEA!
I read Walk Away and I really liked it. It centers around Nick who is a singer and his girlfriend/wife Layla. They were secretly married and no one, not even family knows. Nick is a cheater and Layla has had it. They spend time trying to work on their marriage, but in the eye of the public it's hard.
I felt bad for Layla when I was reading this and at the same time saw that Nick was actually just as affected by the relationship. I enjoyed it and think this book is worth reading.
